First Quarter

Good Evening

This is High School Principal Steve Morford informing all parents that the end of the high school’s first quarter was Friday, October 26th. All quarter grades have been posted and are available on the Campus Parent Portal. Please take time to look over your child’s grades and have a discussion regarding those grades. Feel free to contact your child’s teacher with any questions you may have. If you would like a paper copy of the quarter report, please contact the high school office.

Financial Aid

Good evening senior parents

A reminder to put Monday, November 5th on your calendar as an important date as Spearfish High School will host a financial aid information session in the high school theater. Deb Henriksen, Director of Financial Aid at BHSU, will present relevant information to parents and students on the process of receiving financial aid for all of your post-secondary options along with the necessary steps to take as your senior nears graduation. The session will be held on Monday, November 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Theater. The information presented will be relevant to all post-secondary schools. Topics covered will include Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA), scholarships and additional resources for financial aid. Hope to see that evening.

Thank you

Please plan on attending a free presentation Monday, October 29th at 6:30 pm in the high school theater. Marc Mero is one of the premier school speakers in the United States. He shares his captivating journey with audiences and inspires people to examine their life choices. Listeners feel a greater sense of appreciation toward their relationships and the “gift of time” and are empowered to make a difference in their personal life, school, career, and community. As the founder of the nonprofit organization, Champion of Choices, Marc dedicates his life to helping others be the “Champion” they’re destined to be! The Time is Now! Everyone faces adversity. Marc quotes “It’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get back up. You can do anything you set your mind to!” Get ready to be inspired! Marc will present his story to all parents and community members at 6:30 pm Monday, Oct 29th and to students on Tuesday, October 30th at 1:45. This event is sponsored by many local service organizations arranged by the Spearfish Zonta Club.
